Not One, Not Two, But Six! A Historic Night for the Brazilian Lodge

In April 2022, United Arts Rifles Lodge No 3817, better known as the “Brazilian Lodge”, made history by conducting a sextuple passing ceremony, the first in its history.

Passing six candidates to the Second Degree in a single evening is a rare feat requiring exceptional coordination. To make the occasion even more special, the Lodge benefited from expert ritual support from W. Bros Bruno Maini and Edoardo El-Attrache of Loggia Italia No 2687.

This collaboration was deeply symbolic, as the Italian brethren were representing the Anglo-Foreign Lodges Association (AFLA). Fittingly, it was at this very meeting that the United Arts Rifles Lodge officially voted in favour of joining our prestigious Association, cementing a bond that has only grown stronger since.

The international character of the Lodge was further highlighted by a successful ballot for a joining member from the Swiss Grand Lodge ALPINA. This addition expanded the Lodge’s footprint to four countries beyond England, proving its status as a global hub.

The evening concluded with what has now become a legendary tradition in London Masonry: the Brazilian “all-you-can-eat-meat” festive board. Visitors to the Lodge are always welcome to experience this unique hospitality.
